Driver for HP Officejet 7400 print/scan

I have an aging (but still functional) HP Officejet 7410 print/scan All-in-One. I have used it on my Mac for several years but due to a HD crash I had to reinstall Yosemite and drivers. I am unable to get a driver (either from Apple or HP) which will talk to this printer. According to the Apple "Printer and Scanner Software Available" (OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support) driver version 2.0.3 is available for this printer. However, Software Update only gives me "HP Printer Software Update version 3.0" which does not include the driver for this printer. Going to the HP website says "Use software update" and does not provide a link to a driver for this printer.

Can anyone explain what's going on, and provide a link to the correct driver for this printer? Could this be related to the fact that this printer is connected by Wifi?

That's the problem! I have downloaded "HP Printer Software Update version 3" multiple times in the last month and it never finds the driver for this printer. Although the printer shows up in the "Add" window when I click the "plus" sign in the "Printers & Scanners" System Preferences applet (I almost called it a Control Panel), the printer driver is not presented as an alternative and the applet wants me to use "Generic PCL printer driver." Wondering what is going on here.

Hi,

Install the HP Printer Software Update version 3, that include the print and scan drivers for your printer as you may find listed within the following chart (for the HP Officejet 7400 series):

OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support

Once the driver installed you may scan as listed within Step 4 below:

You may also install and use the HP Easy Scan app below:
