Creating new libraries

Las night I tried to create a new FCP X library on my network Drobo to archive projects and clear the 175 gigs worth of material off of my Macbook Pro. It told me that it was not possible to use a network drive as a library.

I'm wondering if there is a work around, or another approach I could take. All I really wanted to do was consolidate project files and get the projects off of my computer, but none of those options could be selected.

Thanks for any help!

No. If you want to move the library off your system for storage and archive purposes, you can simply move the library in the Finder to the Drobo on the WiFi network. You won't be able to do anything with FCP in the library, but it will be stored, and the space freed up on your system. If you need to continue working on it you'll have to do it on a hardware network or simply on an external drive. You cannot save a library to a Time Machine drive either. You'll get a permissions error message.
