Deleting Video Without Deleting Audio

Is there just a simple way to delete video without deleting audio from a clip? With FCP7 and Premiere, it was the click of a button. Can I please have a shortcut because it has been very complicated with me on FCPX to perform what should be a simple task.

When you Detach the audio it is still connected to the video with the pin. It has to be connected to something in the primary storyline. To get rid of the video you can do one of three things: one, move the connection point to something else (Opt-Cmd-click the audio where you want the new connection);

two, leave the video in place until you can replace it with something else; or three, select the video and press Shift-Delete to replace the video with a gap clip.

To edit just the audio into the project select the edit type in the toolbar or with the shortcuts.

When you detach the audio from the clip it remains connected to the clip. So if you then delete the video clip it will also delete the connected, detached audio clip. To prevent this you must detach the audio and then connect it to another clip and then delete the video clip that you wanted to delete.
