no driver available for Canon PIXMA MP620 after upgrade to OS X Yosemite v10.10

I have upgraded to OS X Yosemite v10.10 and now my Canon PIXMA MP620 all-in-one will not work. Canon states there is no driver available for this OS version; that it may be included or not needed?

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), no driver available Canon printer

The last printer driver that Canon released for the MP620 was for OS X 10.9. You can use this driver on 10.10 so here is a link from Canon Australia.

Note that as the driver is not signed for Yosemite it may get blocked by Gatekeeper. To get past Gatekeeper, hold down the Control key and click on the installer. A pop-up menu will appear and select Open. Now you will be allowed to install the driver.

I just upgraded to 10.11 El Capitan, and my MP620 stopped scanning. Downloaded this update (which is not available on the US Canon site for some reason). My printer works, but it still won't detect the scanner. Any ideas?

You will need to install the MP620 scanner driver and Canon's MP Navigator scanning application for the MP620. Like the printer driver, the scanner driver and scanning application were lasted released for OS X 10.9. They should install and operate on 10.11 but I don't have this model to test so you will have to try them. If for some reason they don't work then please post the issue in the OS X 10.11 forum.
