Is my graphics card dying?

I have a 27" mid-2011 desktop iMac that did something this morning that I have never experienced. I was working and all of a sudden the screen went to vertical black lines. I turned the CPU off and back on and it took longer than normal to load. Again an hour later I was working and all of a sudden the screen went gray. I again shut it off and back on again and I got this screenshot:User uploaded file

Since the computer re-loaded that time, I have not had any problems since (for about the past 5 hours), but I'm sure this will rear its ugly head again. Has anyone has similar problems? Any idea what's happening?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Display failure in that model is relatively common. All you can do is have the LCD replaced which is a bit expensive. Ask if the replacement program is still observed, but it did expire some time ago.
