Facetime is signing in but doesn't do anything after that.

I have an iPad Air 2, made a new apple id and all that. I can log in the Apple Store but I can't sign in to Facetime. I enter my email and pass, then after I press sign in, it loads then the "sign in" sign comes back and it doesn't do anything after that. I tried pressing sign in about 10 times but it still doesn't work. It doesn't state any error, thr "sign in" sign just comes back.
