Canon MG5300 won't scan after update

Hi, this seems to have been raised before, but I can't find a solution. I updated my Canon printer software to version 3.2 recently. The printer still works OK, but i can't get the scanner to work. I have installed new Canon scanner software but after completion of the process I can't find it anywhere.

What am I doing wrong?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

If you installed Canon's scanning application, MP Navigator EX v5.0.3, then it will be located under Applications > Canon Utilities. Note that to use MP Navigator you must install the MG5300 series scanner driver.

If you only installed the scanner driver then you will need to install MP Navigator or some other TWAIN based scanning application. The scanner driver is just a scanner driver - it does not include any scanning application.

If you installed the ICA scanner driver then you can use the built-in Image Capture application to scan from the MG53xx.
