How to send photo via email with 'metadata' included

Finally decided to take a photography class. The teacher needed samples of our work weeks before the class started...with the 'metadata' included. No problem with iPhoto. As luck would have it, I upgraded to Photos before the class actually started without knowing the chaos it would create. I need to send my first class project to the teach with 'metadata' included but can no longer get the photos to email with the 'metadata' included. Any thoughts?

Running OS Yosemite 10.10.3 on a older MacBook Pro. Using Mac Mail for all my emails.

The EXIF metadata will be included in the image file. If you want the IPTC metadata to be included also, i,e keywords, titles, descriptions, etc., you'll have to export the photos out of Photos to the desktop with these checkboxes checked:

If you need to have the IPTC metadata in the body of the email or in a readable document it will be a bit more difficult. First export the edited version out of the library as shown above. Next export the the unmodified original out with the option to include an .x mp file with the IPTC metadata in it.

That file can be read with a text editor or by a 3rd party editor like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

Old Toad, there seems to be a great difference between Lion's Preview and Yosemite's Preview.

I can reproduce your screen on my wife's MBP (running Snow Leopard), but this window is nowhere to be found on Yosemite 10.10.5.

So please explain how to get there...

There are, on the other hand, apps enough to display the exif, but I would have to go to Finder's Get Info, and not Preview to retrieve such information.

PS: in Preview (of OSX 10.10.5) you need to go to the Tools menu, and pick Show Inspector:

but exif is a lot more than these data.

Got it.

For those who don't know where this info is hiding in Preview 8.0 (859.21)

Open picture with JPG

Tools menu -> Show Inspector (you'll get the screen in my previous post)

The inspector window has several tabs First is General Info, but you need the second tab (the one marked with i in a circle)

And then from the following window General/Exif/IPTC/JFIF/TIFF you need the second tab, marked Exif.

Not so easy to find, but thanks to OT, I found it.

I have the same issue in that I need to send several photos with date/time and location info. I have tried both emailing as is from Photos as well as exporting to the desktop and then emailing. I did a test to another account I have and opened with Preview. The only data I can find is in the inspector, and it shows today's date and not the date the photo was taken. Where would the metadata be located to view it? I have no idea what photo viewer the recipient will be using to view the photos and data.
