Installing AutoCad: Is it wiser to partition my mac hard drive to Install a Windows AutoCad, or Install Mac AutoCad?

Hi,

I'm a university student beginning an internship at an engineering firm. I will be working with the company's already set-up AutoCad Files.

I don't know whether to:

1. Partition my Mac, install Windows, then install the AutoCad (for Windows)

2. Simply download the AutoCad for MAC OS X

I'm a novice, so I'm wondering if there will be problems viewing the company's AutoCad files (made from a Windows computer) from a AutoCad MAC OS X.

I suggest using Bootcamp and Windows and installing AutoCAD. There are differences between the OS X and Windows versions. A virtualization engine is not adequate for Windows to be able to run AutoCAD products.

Install the version that is used by the engineers at the company you'll be working with. They won't be happy if they have to spend time making files compatible with your version nor will they be happy helping you work out the differences if you choose not to use the same version as them.
