We recdently downloaded an update,version 0.11.1 of Minecraft PE on a IPad 1 even it says it is compatibel with iOS 5.1.1. which is ours.
Since then only the Mojang logo with white background appears, nothing else. Can‘t get in at all.
Cananybody help me?

The same thing just happened to me. It will go to the next page where you can press play, but nothing happens. If it is not compatible, it should not have let us download it and we should not be charged.

This worked for me. Since this is on my kids iPad and not mine that is tolerable since she doesnt need to play online... But at the same time its horrible practice to say its compatible and have to do work arounds and disable a part of the game to get it to work ;(
Hope they fix it in the future.
They have started to drop support for iOS 5 in Minecraft PE. I suggest you make a Bug report to Mojang using this link.
Turn off wifi. I had the same issue but it works if I turn off wifi. Not a perfect solution as you can't join wifi games anymore, but at least you can still play solo.
