Why won't my Apple TV work as it's supposed to and stream videos from my iPhone despite several attempts in trying to fix its problem?

All day today, I have tried to get my Apple TV to stream videos from Safari, but to no avail. Keep in mind that it had worked successfully the night before, and for many other days prior to today. Every time that I have tried to stream a video, I was met with, "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later." And when I tried to access some other application that required wifi, for example, YouTube, I was told that communications with the application hadn't been successful, or something akin to this. In general, my Apple TV has been rendered useless today, because I only really use it for those two characteristics.

Now elaborating upon my issue, I believe I have tried every solution that I could find on Google. Restarting my router (unplugging and plugging the cord back in as well), restarting all the settings on my Apple TV (there is a 'Restore' option, but it won't work; I assume because of the internet problems I'm experiencing, it won't be allowed to update anything which probably requires an internet connection), soft rebooting the Apple TV (and numerous times, mind you), etc. I have ensured that my Apple TV is, in fact, connected to my network several times as well, to the point of me actually memorizing the password when I haven't been able to for years (I've had to input it over and over again THAT much). Though, it appalls me as to why applications that use an internet connection won't work. I've tried consulting my dad, who is the owner of the said Apple TV, but he couldn't manage to get it to work. Countless times of relying on Google, I've checked many different threads and have tried to search many things related to my problem, but none could help me, which is why I am here now, creating my own thread.

I have an earnest plea for assistance in my problem, and I give humble thanks in advance for any attempt at solving my frustrating issue. I dearly wish to be able to watch whatever video I please again. The short period of time in which I was able to do that was blissful, and I got to really understand the awe of the Apple TV, and would like to be able to continue basking myself in its glory.

A long read, but once again, thanks in advance. I am open to any methods available as long as they are doable for a teenager as myself.

airplay mirror? or old airplay ?

which devices all around ?

the old type of airplay required the app to be made to support the feature also that the website support the feature)

when it was replaced by airplay mirror most the apps and sites which supported the old type dropped the feature

ipad1g and iphone4 and older only support the old airplay type

you can read about it here

I am quite sure that it is Airplay Mirroring that is not working for me. I am using my iPhone 5 and my iPad 2nd generation, and as I have mentioned before, they have both worked in streaming videos to my Apple TV for several days before yesterday. I am able to mirror my screen onto Apple TV, but the moment I click on a video in Safari and try to stream it, it backfires and I am met with that error.
