Playlist folder track count

Same persisting problem here. A playlist folder count doesn't necessarily reflect its content count. E.g.: in my library I found a playlist folder containing 2 regular playlists each containing 500 different tracks : total for the folder 500... It happens everywhere in my playlist library. Most of the time with mixed contents: folders, regular and smart playlists. Any advice would be welcome

As far as I can tell, it is still working the same as my post above from 2015. The playlist folder count is the number of unique tracks, which is often less than the sum of the tracks in the subtending playlist playlists. There is also no particular limit of 500, as I have playlist folders with well over 1000 tracks.

500 is an arbitrary number, can be 145, 967... Each playlist folder containing strictly different tracks. Playlist folders count don't always reflect the exact content. I have a said 1829 items playlist folder containing 2458 different tracks... Indeed the Folders playlists may be buged or my library severly corrupted, but I happen to have just rebuild it by the book. Some folders get it right, some other don't...

I think you hit the nail. I used Doug's scripts to manage my library. One of them works by duplicating playlists (Assimilate View Options). I should check with the developper a well. Thanks tt2 (what ever happened to the original tt?)

The playlist folder counts each unique track only once, even if the track is in more than one of the contained playlists.

That behavior will be the same whether the playlsits are smart or regular.

Hi Tom, Understood, although I cannot reproduce the behavior here. I am wondering if having some songs in the cloud is messing up the counts.

Could you perhaps have duplicated an existing list in the folder and then gone on to edit them? This has been reported in other cases where the stats for the folder are incorrect.
