I have tried to set my screen saver to an iphoto album but it always reverts to national geographic. It is getting tiresome. Any suggestions? This has happened since I installed Mavericks.

Another workaround is to delete the pictures in the National Geographic folder and add your picture there. Hard drive level Library/ScreenSavers.
I have tried these before but it simply reverts. I deleted the pictures from Nat.. but the pictures I put in that folder do not appear. I'll try again.
