Voice Control keeps coming up and interupting music. How do we get rid of voice control? My friend suggests Android..

Voice Control is built in. It cannot be removed. It is only available if you turn Siri off. They symptoms you're describing are often the result of a defective corded headset, though not always.

To stop Voice Control from activating, turn Siri on in Settings>General>Siri. Then, prevent Siri from accidentally being invoked, go to Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Allow Access When Locked>Siri and turn it to off.

Or, switch to an Android. They are, from what I've been able to determine from the people who complain here about aspects of the iPhone, absolutely perfect devices that are infinitely customizable and never break. 😉

Omigosh, thank you so much. It's only been 5 minutes, but that's 5 minutes of no freaking Voice Control randomly coming on and beeping in the middle of my podcasts, or starting music, or playing 2 seconds of a series of different podcasts in a row. I have been going crazy for hours. In fact, it's now been 7 minutes... and I think this finally fixed it.

Voice Control is the onboard system that you can use if you turn off Siri. It doesn't require a data connection. It's much more rudimentary.

Don't know what you are talking about as there is no such system app "Voice Control". If you have that app it must be a third party app and you can delete it. If you are talking about Siri, turn it off under Settings>> General>>>Siri.

Meg S_C. you totally rock! You solved my problem! Voice control is gone, and Siri won't come on unless I've already unlocked my phone. Now, my dog can stand on the 'home' button when the phone is in my front pocket, and it no longer calls my barber shop on Facetime.
