if i back up my windows7 PC to i Cloud will i be able to restore my data in the event of a disaster recovery situation?
Could you be so kind and explain how you hope to backup Windows 7 to iCloud?

i am not sure in all honesty and i may have expressed myself rather badly. it is of course my data that i want to back up and then be able to restore onto my PC if a disaster occurs. i though that this would be easier than remembering to take regular backups onto external drives at home.
haver i got it right or is iCloud only compatible with Apple devices and file structures etc.?
I think there should be some tools built in Windows to backup important data.

Backup your PC using iCloud? No.
Use Carbonite or Crashplan instead.
