Cleaning Blood from a USB Port

Okay, I know how this topic sounds, but here is what happened: I live in a rural area and a tick must have fallen off of my dog and nestled into my USB port of my MacBook Pro. When I plugged in a USB cable, well...the tick exploded inside the port. Any suggestions on how to clean this? I used a cleaning cloth very carefully, but some of the blood has dried already. I managed to get the tick (what was left of it) out of the port though, but some blood still remains. Thanks!

PS - I am not a psycho killer. The tick thing actually happened!
