com.hp.devicemodel.TransportProxy what is that?? I updated my macbook pro and tha fans ar running like crazy now. is that a bub in the update? please apple check that out! all the macs at home are like that. I had to reinstall Yosemite to stop from boiling my mac.

Thanks, this fixed the queue problem and activity issue of the task , but its not a solution, the problem could happen again and again, in my case, when I can´t print for any reason. it's the drivers that can't stop the process, I think an updated driver is needed from HP. Anyway this patch works ok!

This totally worked. As a side note, when I went to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners it showed a printer "In Use." As soon as I removed it the process went away. I was wondering why I couldn't kill the process. I used this printer via USB a few days ago and the process was still there.

Thank you for this simple solution! Worked perfectly! I was freaking out, scared my fan was going to burn out. This shut it off and stopped my "User % CPU Activity" to drop from 99% to 1%. That was insane. Thanks for nothing HP.

Fantastic. I tried several things, and finally thought I had some major problem and would have to travel 2 hours to the nearest iStore to get help. Can't say how grateful I am.
Just spent 2 days trying to pinpoint this same issue. Since upgrading to El Capitan we are no longer able to print wirelessly to our HP Photosmart Prem C310 and the docs stayed in queue waiting to print by USB. Finally found this culprit in the activity monitor. Thanks! Any tips on getting back to wireless printing.
I just had to delete a pending print job in the queue for an HP printer that I am not always connected to.

Deleting the offending printer from the System Prefs / Printers Scanners list worked immediately. No more com.hp.devicemodel.TranportProxy using 700% of CPU in Activity Monitor.
