My ipod dropped and screen turned white. Help

I have a MacBook Pro Computer. Operating system Mac OSX. Version 10.4.11.

PProcessor: 1.25 GHZ

Memory: 512 MB DDR SDRAM.

I own an ipod Classic and have had no problems until last night. My son owned it before me. I dropped it and then

the screen turned white. I have tried many of the suggested solutions but, as yet none of them have worked. Does this mean that

I have lost all music?

What would be the cost of a new ipod?

Thank you for hopefully realizing my dilemma. If there is no way to return it to normal, what are other options?
