Connect Bluetooth headset to watch & iPhone simultaneously?

Is this true or is there a way to connect a Bluetooth device to the Apple Watch and iPhone Simultaneously?

To my understanding:

Currently the apple watch can not stream phone conversations directly to Bluetooth. And the Speakers are literally worthless under normal background sounds.

If you connect a Bluetooth headset to the apple watch, currently it can only play music (Force touch to change source) stored on the Watch internal memory. If you get a phone call and you answer it on the apple watch it will only play on the watch speakers (which is impossible to hear in with background noise) and the only way to get it to play on your Bluetooth headset is by pulling out your phone and going to settings > Bluetooth and selecting the device and wait about 3 seconds for it to automatically disconnect from watch and connect to the phone.

SO, If I want to use my Bluetooth headset to have a phone conversation I have to pull out my iPhone every time to either answer the call or manually switch the headset to the iPhone (if I was currently connected to the apple watch) which ruins the point of the Apple Watch.

Is this true? is there a work around? if not how do you manage to get around this flaw?

Apple Watch, watchOS 1.0.1

Just tested this out. When I touch "Answer on my iPhone" it does t actually answer my iPhone instead it accepts the call and makes a sonar sound that only the other person hears and it requires you to pull out your iPhone and manually accept the call.

If I tell my watch to "Answer on my iPhone" then why does it force me to pull out my iPhone to accept the call?

Check your headset's capabilities. My Q3 can make calls by voice command, so I don't need to touch my watch or my phone to make or receive calls. And I generally don't. I just double-press the phone's button, which wakes Siri, and say "Call John Doe" - as long as the name is in my contacts. And if it isn't I can say "dial 123-456-7890"

It is only limited on the iphone. It does defeat the purpose of the watch when a call is coming in. I work outside and usually have my hands full. It would be nice to not have to pull out the phone to answer it.

I should of stayed with the Android as to you can connect you headset to the watch.

If you have a BT headset on, why do you need to pull your phone out to answer it? Most headsets have an answer button. Many have the ability to answer by voice. I use a Blue Ant Q3 that tells me who's calling and asks me if I want to answer or not.

They must have changed this in 2.0 of the software. I have a Plantronics legend bt headset. I had to play with it for a little bit. I tried pairing it with the watch and would only get audio on some stuff and if i made a call from the watch it used the internal speaker.

I attached the headset to my phone and now if i start a call from my watch as soon as it starts to dial i see hand off on the screen and it transfers the call to my headset. On the incoming side i have to use the button on my headset to answer the call. If i answer on the watch it uses the speaker and if you tell it to transfer to phone it puts the call on hold until you accept it on the phone which defeats the purpose IMHO.

Hope this helps.

I use Monster isport wireless headphones with I watch and iphone 6, I can successfully able to pair headphones to either iwatch or iphone.

Headset synched to Watch

I cannot make calls from watch and hear through headphones??

I can only play music stored on watch which has limited memory

I cannot receive calls and hear through headset??

Headset synced to Iphone

Can receive calls using button on headphones, can see who is calling by looking at watch but cannot answer on watch.

Cannot make calls from watch, need to make from phone to be able to use.

I want to be able to have sound through headphones and be able to control from either iwatch or iphone, I want to be able to play all my music stored on my phone and control using my watch. Why can this not happen??????

Why not just connect the headset to the phone, and use Siri with the headset to make and receive calls from the phone? You can answer calls directly from the headset, no need to get the watch involved.

Again, Why don't you leave the headset connected to the phone and play your music directly from the phone? You can control music playing on the phone from the watch. I do it all the time. I can also do it with my Zik headset, but perhaps your headset doesn't have this feature.

If the phone is connected to the headset you can do this. I play the music on my iPhone and control it from the watch all the time.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

The Siri solution is great but it does not understand a word I say which is a little frustrating

The music situation has resolved itself now I am conect my iPhone to both headphones and watch at same time.

The most important reason for using headphones for me is phone calls, It would be very useful to be able to press answer on the watch after glancing at it to see who is calling then press answer on same device rather than look at watch then fiddle with cable round neck to answer call. Would also be good to call from watch using favourites and be able to hear through headphones, as siri does not understand me.

Yes I agree. I use my watch primarily to listen to music while working out and responding to texts. If I'm listening to the playlist stored on my watch I would like the option to change source to phone without having to re-pair to my phone.

I realize I could just pair to my phone but I don't always want my phone on me while working out but just access to the playlists while in range.

Am I missing something?

I think I must be missing something. If the phone is in range, even if it's not on you, leave the headset paired to the phone. You can still listen to music on the phone. I guess just don't understand why you would be listening to music on the watch if the phone was in range.
