Air flow of my 27in imac in a desk cabinet

I want to place my 27in imac in a desk cabinet that will have still have good air flow especially with doors open. With the doors closed, the screen will have a space of 3 to 4 inches from the closed doors and from the back wall there will be at all times a good 6-7 inches space. Are there any recommended distances from walls facing the back and sides of a 27in imac? Thank you.

If you are running cables through that hole, then i is not sufficient. As for drilling holes in the cabinet, the more holes there are, the better the venting will be.

The iMac model you have is probably venting from a slot that runs along the upper rear of the case. When it's running you can usually feel the heat venting out. The closer your cabinet venting is to that slot's position the better the venting will be.

Thank you very much for helping me learn how to use my iMac in my favourite desk armoire. I did as you suggested - ensure ventilation. I cut out the whole area behind the iMac and it is running smoothly. Also, I apologize for neglectfully replying slowly to your advice. I do appreciate your immediate response and helpful information.

Thanks again.
