when trying to connect to the internet via safari to google, i occasionally receive this error message: Safari can't open the page: "https://www.google.com/? gws rd=ss! How can I avoid this?

I have an iMac with the latest software update. I go to google.com via Safari. Occasionally when I try to connect to the internet via safari to google, I receive this error message: Safari can't open the page: "https://www.google.com/!?gas_rd=ss!" What is the problem? Is it safari not communicating with google. How can I correct this?

iMac, iOS 8.3

If it is only occasionally, there was probably a server error and you just need to try again.
