Iphone virus

I find it hard to believe I'm the only person out there who got hit with a virus today. I was on safari reading news this morning when a window popped up, and said something to the effect that it was uploading all my info on my phone. I did a hard power off as fast as I could, but apparently the virus was already installed. Phone is now slow, and keeps shutting on and off. I am literally saying a window popped up explaining the virus was attacking my phone. So please refrain from replying to this thread with the no virus on IOS BS.

This is not a virus, malware or adware. It's a scam website trying to fool you into doing something - perhaps calling a phone number for "help" removing the "virus."

Tp get rid of the message in Safari, follow the instructions here, under "Clear information from your device":

Safari web settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Then don't go back to whatever site you were visiting at the time that caused the pop-up to appear.
