Mac OS X update error 10.10.4.

I have an Macbook Pro (2015) with Mac OS X 10.10.3. I try update to 10.10.4 but after reboot, say "error, update change" and dont let me install 10.10.4. Any idea?

I had the exact same issue...would only download at 0.3Mbit on a 25Mbit connection (was going to take 3 days to download by OS X update), then would stop and tell me there were changes to the updates.

I used the direct download link and got it downloaded in 8 minutes. Installed, rebooted, everything is OK now.

Thanks for the link.

What is the difference between the two update links? The combo update is 2GB and the other one is 1GB. Description on both pages is exactly the same and doesn't explain why one update is twice the size.

2.02GB combo update "OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 Combo Update"

1.09GB other version "OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 Update"

My MBP 15”, Early 2011 does not even has the OS X 10.10.4 update in its App Store Updates. Even three updates (iMovie, GarageBand and Mactracker) do not update even where they are supposedly being available for Update.

My iMac 21.5” Mid 2010 found it in the App Store Updates and installed OS X 10.10.4 and others flawless as well as my iMac 20” Early 2008.

Apple does not has any information usefully or support to resolve this issue. Typically since Tim Cook and Phil Schiller clearly state that they are not being interested in supporting its users.

To contact Apple Care is useless, it has since over nine months issues unresolved not even answered even when promised to recontact us for solutions.

Many article on the Apple Community complaining about this issue (OS X 10.10.4) but no clear solution is been offered there either.

Again, Apple does not have any interest in supporting users, their staff uses only deceptive and cheap polemic answers, but has no solutions.

I downloaded the update from the App Store today and I got the same message as everyone else on this thread: "OS X Update could not be verified. It may be corrupted or tampered with during downloading....."

It took me over five hours to download OS X 10.10.4 and I'm not going to try again just to get this same message. I will wait until Apple fixes this, but that could be awhile with Apple's record fixing Yosemite bugs.

Don't wish to hi-jack this thread but my App store update seemed to work BUT. I posted this in another forum and others have my same problem:

After installing 10.10.4, I now have sleep problems with my 2012 Mac Mini.

It will wake OK by pressing a keyboard key (wired), but then the keyboard won't respond when I try to enter the password.

Have to power cycle to get started again.

My experience:

1. I tried twice applying the update from the App Store. I saw that the file was invalid and it would not apply.

2a. As others have suggested, I downloaded the combo update from here: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1820?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US. This file's size is 2066639665 bytes, or about 1.9GB.

2b. I followed the instructions to verify the download here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT202369

2c. I get a different fingerprint. The SHA 1 checksum I get is 1E 34 E3 91 C6 44 37 DD 24 BE 57 B1 66 7B 2F DA 09 76 E1 FD.

3. I don't install this because something is wrong somewhere. Either the fingerprints listed on the Apple site are wrong or out of date, or the certificate has been tampered with. Either way, I cannot verify the download.

Mac OS X update error 10.10.4.
