iPad froze up after installing iOs 8.4

I installed iOS 8.4 on both my iPad2 and my iPhone 5s. The pone works great but my iPad is completely frozen up. All I can get is the Apple symbol and even that goes away after a few minutes. Holding down home and restart buttons does nothing. I tried connecting it to my computer but iTunes does not even see the iPad. Any suggestions on what to do next? Thanks.

Similar problem here; although no issues with my Iphone 6.

My iPad, however, just froze while doing the update. For a few seconds when I connected it the the wall power plug,it showed the home screen with apps, however, in zoom mode and then just went back to the frozen screen.

Connecting it to iTunes, I get the message "To allow access, please respond on you iPad." But with unresponsive iPad, how can I respond - so no good. It would seem that I need to visit the iPad store to try and fix.

I have tried the method suggested above,

I seemed to go through the Restore and Update process (extracting software, restoring ipad software, bla bla..) , but it finally end up with the error message :

The ipad "ipad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)

Will Apple service center help me with this problem? since I don't have warranty for this device (Ipad 4 64GB), because I bought a refurbished Ipad from some seller on ebay.

So as stated earlier, I did the upgrade on 8 July, and found that the iPad had frozen. After several hard reset attempts and twice trying to restore via iTunes - I could not get the iPad to respond. iTunes could not recognize my iPad.

My intention was to visit the Apple Store when I had the time. So after the last hard reset and the image appearing that I had to connect to iTunes, and with the power on, I just left it. That was on 10 July. This morning on 12 July, after having done NOTHING, I pressed the Home button and the code screen appears - in zoom mode. I keyed in the code and the Home screen appears, still in distorted zoom mode. After doing the finger tap thing to restore normal size, I started using it and everything seems to be working.

I am typing this message on my previously frozen iPad. Go figure. I am so glad I didn't have to do a restore as I had last backed up my iPad a while ago and had a lot of new info which I did not wish to lose.

I now know that if I do an upgrade, I need to first back up.

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod/iPhone and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod/iPhone. Again, say "yes."

At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod/iPhone. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.

If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this.

I updated to iOS 8.4 a couple of days ago. Since then my iPad will not accept my password for my home WiFi. The dialogue box says "incorrect password" even though it is the correct password! 😠 I have tried a reset my iPad many times now but no further forward getting on to my WiFi. Any suggestions? Any one spoken to Apple about this problem?
