Music home sharing no longer available after ios 8.4 update?

I have been searching for a way to access my home music library from music after completing the ios 8.4 update. Any way to connect now? The option seems to be missing.

I have been looking for this as well, looks like Apple may have taken this out with 8.4 which would be very upsetting and I probably wouldn't have updated older devices if I had known that as we use home sharing in the house all the time, or at least we did 😟 Hoping I am just missing it and someone will point me in the right direction

This is a TECHNICAL request and should NOT be CENSORED by an Apple Moderator.

I subscribe to the topic and got a copy of your post in my email -- it was a rant, very negative and whiney. I'm so glad Apple goes through these posts and weeds out the bad ones. They serve no purpose and help no one ✅

I deeply regret my recent posts to this group and I am glad that Apple removed them. I wish that there was an undo key but there is not therefore I have to live with my impetuousness and stupidity. I apologise to the group and to the moderators for my behaviour and you will not see me post any more material on any subject. If I cannot exhibit civilised send sensible behaviour then I do not deserve to be here.

Tre here is nothing else that I can say.

I posted earlier about using PLEX as an alternative to the loss of being able to access a music library on a Mac or PC with your ios device. One of the responders indicated how you can't shuffle your entire library using PLEX, which is true. However, one workaround I found is since PLEX does shuffle and play an iTunes created playlist, I simply created a Playlist in iTunes titled "SHUFFLE" then selected my entire iTunes library and added every song to this Playlist, now I can listen and shuffle my entire music library on my ios device through the PLEX App. So, problem solved. The one-time $4.99 cost for the PLEX app is well worth it, considering the alternative of paying $10 a month with Apple Music. Simple economics. Hope you find this helpful.

It's quite nice -- not sure about the 'busy' though, it's got a lot less going on then a regular Music app. It does a lot more than just stream your iTunes audio library -- it plays video to a Roku box. If a video (or audio) file that you attempt to stream is incompatible with the stream's destination, without you having to configure or do anything, it transcodes it to a compatible format. Particularly helpful when playing videos to Roku, as it will only play 2-channel stereo -- most high-def video files have 3 or 5 audio audio channels. Without Plex, most files will play video without the audio if you try to play them from a USB flash drive plugged into the Roku. Most Samsung Smart TV's have a Plex app preinstalled, or available from the Samsung app store.

Many of us use iTunes to manage all of our digital music. Personally, I don't buy much music from Apple. Listening to low-res, lossy files is not my thing. I use Home Sharing to listen to music that I OWN, such as CD's, that I have imported as lossless files into iTunes. Luckily I only upgraded to iOS 8.4 on my iPhone, so I can still use my iPads with Home Sharing to stream lossless music files from my NAS. I use the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter to connect to my DAC or the more portable Nu Force ICON iDo DAC/amp, both of which bypass the inferior DAC built into my Apple portable devices.

Weirdest thing, this morning I went into settings and selected "Show Apple Music" while at work (away from my network and home computer), then when I logged into the Wifi at work noticed all my songs on my home computer were accessible. Have any of you come across this? Now I can select all my songs in my entire library, which is almost 100 gig, on my 32 Gb iPad. This makes me think we can still access our shared music. BTW I did not sign up for the three month free trial; I totally ignored thiat option. Very strange.

Do you have a screenshot? As of iOS 8.4, Home Sharing works with video, not audio. The documentation page for Home Sharing has been updated to reflect this: Use Home Sharing to share iTunes content with other devices on your home network - Apple Support

Perhaps your update didn't work as expected? Could be that you've matched your music and what you're actually seeing is your iCloud Music Library (iTunes Match)...?

The stranges thing is since I only have the "free" iCloud acount of 5 Gig, why would my entire library be accessible? I don't pay of any of the extra services Apple has to offer, such as additional iCloud storage, Apple music, etc. This is why I think this is strange since my music library is almost 100 gig in size. Any thoughts?
