Music home sharing no longer available after ios 8.4 update?

I have been searching for a way to access my home music library from music after completing the ios 8.4 update. Any way to connect now? The option seems to be missing.

I have been looking for this as well, looks like Apple may have taken this out with 8.4 which would be very upsetting and I probably wouldn't have updated older devices if I had known that as we use home sharing in the house all the time, or at least we did 😟 Hoping I am just missing it and someone will point me in the right direction

An inherently negative person might look at it that way. Others might like the flexibility of audio/video streaming formats; the ability to serve your media up from OSX or Windows devices -- or even both at once; add external drives to existing libraries; reliability; solid & consistent performance -- those are all features not present in iTunes Home Sharing and well worth the $4.99 1-time app purchase.

It's always best to have actually used a product before commenting on it, less embarrassing that way, thanks though for stopping by... 😝

Well, I have good news: Home Sharing was spotted in the iOS 9 beta that shipped earlier today. According to AppAdvice:

Great news for fans of music Home Sharing on their iOS devices. As promised by Apples Eddy Cue, the newest iOS 9 beta released earlier today does indeed include the feature.

The feature was surprisingly removed from iOS 8.4 with no explanation from Apple. But Cue announced on Twitter that music Home Sharing would be back.

While not particularly well known, it’s great for homes with large iTunes libraries and a number of Macs and other iOS devices.

Along with extending playback to iOS devices, your music and movie library can be shared among up to five computers on the same home Wi-Fi network. The content can even be accessed by an Apple TV.

Other smaller changes in the new beta software include support for the new A8-powered iPod touch, which was released last week, and revamped icons for Notifications and Battery options in the Settings menu.

In the Music app, there is also a small number of revamped options designed to make the experience more streamlined.

Finally, Handoff is easier to access as users can find it in a new bar right below that app carousel in the switcher view. Youll just need to pull up the bar to open a Handoff app.

Apple is expected to release iOS 9 to the general public sometime this fall. OS X El Capitan and WatchOS 2 are also expected to land during the same timeframe.

I can not believe that my music home sharing in not working with the new up-date. I was very happy to find some new features on the ipad after the up-date. To make a playlist easier and to see what's up next is brilliant. So I decided to turn on the PC and make a new playlist while sitting in the garden. Oh my. I have just spent 2 days trying to make it work. Read so many forums, and I am totally dissappointed. What should have been a couple of hours making a playlist has turned into a dislike of the ipad. Bring back home sharing for my PC itunes music library please. Sooner that later. This was one of the strong points to buy an ipad. Ps my old iphone 4 which I found again works perfectly, just doesn't have the nice new playlist features.

Hope that I don't need to complain again.
