windows boot option is suddenly missing

Hi, two or three ago suddenly the boot option for Windows has disappeared. It is an Imac 27 inch, late 2013 model on OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 (14D136)

No i can only start OSX and it seems that windows was never there? How can i restore this? I normaly press ALT and then two boot options show up, recently only OSX. I did not changed anything. What i did see in the deleted items is a couple of files since the last days, maybe this is related?

This is a known issue in the Recovery Console. It will not use names, but it needs the LVG UUIDs to work.

Run diskutil cs list and find the long string which looks like 11111111-2222-3333-4444-555555555555 and use that in step 3b as follows

diskutil cs createVolume 11111111-2222-3333-4444-555555555555 jhfs+ "Macintosh HD" 100%

IS there a space between Volume and the LVG UUID number In the script? I put a space after Volume?

You need a space between "jhfs+" and "Macintosh HD".

🙂Hi, with the exception of Chrome in OsX everything works perfectly. I can reinstall Chrome, that wil do the trick. Both OSX and Windows are oke. 🙂

Please make good backups of Windows and OSX as a baseline of future recovery.

Please post the output of diskutil cs list and diskutil list as well for any future readers' benefit. It has been a slow road, but I am glad to see it working as you want it now. 😎
