Apple Music / iTunes 12.2 corrupting all my library

Help,

I just installed iTunes 12.2 and turned on iCloud Music Library and my library is getting corrupted, song names are getting swapped and then marked as duplicate, only the artwork for the original song remains.

For example: A George Michael song (128kbps) got renamed to a Van She song and the orignal Van She song was marked as a duplicate of the George Michael :S

Please help, I don't care if I have to turn off iCloud Music Library, how do I get the meta data of my songs back?

That settles it. 😠

I'm not updating. I don't want "Apple Music". I don't stream music. I don't keep it in the cloud.

And I'm NOT risking my library with this update until the bugs get worked out.

I don't have 7000+ songs, but I do have over 2000, most of them NOT from iTunes and some of my album art is custom.

I hope all of you can recover your music from your backup. I wish you the very best. 😟

For what it's worth, I talked to Apple Support earlier and they said they're aware of this issue and there should be a fix out soon that will relabel songs. I have my doubts as my database seems thoroughly screwed, but it's maybe worth holding out for instead of doing a total restore now and having the issue just repeat itself.

I teach Zumba and my entire library AND my playlists were completely destroyed, both on my MacBook Pro and on my iPhone.

I had to turn off Apple Music, grab my 95 GB music library from a 2 month old backup (I ALWAYS backup my computer before doing a major upgrade like this; except for THIS time...) and then download any music I bought since that backup. Now I'm recreating my playlist from memory, which isn't always good.

This is a major problem.

Did Apple not say that it would be easy to mix Apple Music and non-Apple Music in playlists? Before I realized what a mess my library was I tried to do just that and I was not able to do it on either my Mac or my phone. Anyone else?

Just to let everyone know, I just hanged up with Apple Support, I got the issue looked into by a Senior Adviser and he analyzed everything that happened, the damaged files and data, seems like the only solution is to have a backup, else you are screwed.

I officially have trust issues with Apple Software now.

In my opinion they shouldn't have release iTunes 12.2 with this kind of problems, someone in QA at Apple didn't do their job well enough to catch this nasty situations which are causing permanent data loss.

On my iPhone it is saying that I have not purchased some songs that i know I have had for a few years now with my Apple id... there is something messed up going on and it needs to be fixed by Apple. It's messed up that I can see them purchased on my Mac but my phone tells me that I can't play it because it wasn't purchased by me with my Apple ID... I have had this account forever.
