Apple Music / iTunes 12.2 corrupting all my library

Help,

I just installed iTunes 12.2 and turned on iCloud Music Library and my library is getting corrupted, song names are getting swapped and then marked as duplicate, only the artwork for the original song remains.

For example: A George Michael song (128kbps) got renamed to a Van She song and the orignal Van She song was marked as a duplicate of the George Michael :S

Please help, I don't care if I have to turn off iCloud Music Library, how do I get the meta data of my songs back?

I opted in for the three-month free Apple Music trial, and activated iCloud, and the library corruption happened to me on Windows 7 with iTunes 12.2 64-bit just the same. Hundreds of PURCHASED AAC music files started vanishing from my primary hard drive's iTunes Media folder. Thankfully, I back up my iTunes library files and music files every month and it was an easy recovery. Needless to say, Apple Music and iCloud Music Library options are OFF until this is resolved completely.

Actually, it turns out that replacing the .itl file with a backup version didn't really fix the problem. Still a huge percentage of my songs are still organized by iTunes into incorrect artist folders, with incorrect and duplicate filenames (with the # 1 tacked on), and incorrect over art. I also have missing songs (with a question mark beside them) in my library. What a total mess!

Yes, it requires a complete iTunes folder restore to recover from this iCloud/Apple Music corruption!

As a fail safe, zip these files every month, and every time there's a major change to your iTunes library or before an iTunes upgrade:

iTunes Library Extras.itdb

iTunes Library Genius.itdb

iTunes Library.itl

sentinel <- sometimes hidden

Create a backup folder somewhere for these 'iTunes library backup *date*.zip' files and keep dating them as far back as you want to. Then it's just a matter of using Time Machine or a manual backup to return the iTunes Media folder to its last uncorrupted state.

Wowooo I am back to the land of happiness 🙂

So after trying everything, this is what I had to do to fix it.

Need to have iTunes 12.2.1 and a good copy of your library.

1- Make sure that iCloud Music library is ticked in iTunes general prefs.

2- Close iTune and delete your missed up library completely (I deleted the entire Music folder).

3- Launch iTunes and let it create a new library and if it asks you to use iCloud music lib click yes.

4- Delete all the songs from within iTunes

5- Close iTunes and delete the new library that it created.

6- Restore your iTunes library (music folder) from the days before iCloud Music (my last copy was from May but then I hadn't changed much since)

7- Launch iTunes and let the iCloud music lib do its thing.

8- Enjoy.

i am having the same issue here it say i have no purchases for music, and i do. and when i got to store to the actual song it say Purchased but i cannot download it. it like apple music forcing us to download our DRM version of our purchases instead of DRM free ver..

also every now and then i get a disk I/O error when it comes to using its or copying stuff to it... also some of my songs get corrupted for not reason unable to read it or write meaning i cannot create duplicates of that song either.. all issues started since iTunes 12.2 even with 12.2.1 issues still persist..

found out what the issue was.. when going to purchases and you see no music it because they all hidden..

you need to go to account info then manage on Hidden purchases and then you see them all.

it stupid coz when you unhide it, it also show in your iTunes library and i don't want to see it in my library because i have already have a copy of it MP3 ver...

wish there was a way to show all purchases with out hiding them but keeping them hidden in my actual library, instead of iTunes store..
