Jun 30, 2015 6:40 PM in response to Teknokyleby Michael Marino,★HelpfulI'm having this issue, too. I have already set up my family in iCloud. We share apps, etc. Knowing that, how do you set up a family member in Apple Music?

Jul 1, 2015 2:15 AM in response to Michael Marinoby Paul-nz,★HelpfulI'm in the same boat. I have the family set up and we are sharing iTunes and App Store purchases.
I did the invites a while ago, and its all working fine for 4 of us.
Today I joined Apple Music, and selected the Family Account.
Now I go to my Wife's iPhone - how do I add her to the family account for Apple Music? When I try to join apple
music, she gets the same option of a new individual account (12.99NZD) or a new family account (at $19.99NZD).
Instead - I want to join her to the existing family account for Apple Music.
I have checked "Settings | iCloud" - there are no new Family Sharing options that I can see in there.
Any advice most appreciated.

Jul 1, 2015 3:25 AM in response to Paul-nzby Teknokyle,★HelpfulHere what I did after I bought the subscription as the Organizer of the Family in iCloud:
- You, as the Organizer, need to invite family member's Apple ID into the Sharing through your device.
- I turned off/on the sharing of my purchases within the iCloud>Manage Family area (I am the organizer), and within seconds, my Apple Music for Family registered with my wife's phone (I was literally watching it when the "Join Apple Music) poofed away. There could be a tremendous backlog of requests for it to keep up. I went up to check on my daughter's phone and it was already registered
- My wife has a totally separate iTunes/App account tied to her iCloud ID. In the iCloud Family settings, I was able to choose with Apple ID I want to share purchases from. My account was in there at one point, but signed her into her own account, set up a new card and bought an app. Her purchase showed up just fine (where to find it at the last bullet). She is setup as an adult & Parent/Guardian. Be careful as swapping payment accounts for a user will lock that account sharing in for 90 days - you wont be able to change back for 3 months if you use the wrong sharing acct. That is at the iCloud Settings level in the Family Sharing - not device level.
- My daughter's account has no card attached to it ( I set that option to "None", but I am going to enter an iTunes GC and see if she can purchase from the GC before my card gets charged (I suspect that the balance of the GC will be used first). She is under 13 and I have "Ask to Buy" turned on.
- I found all of the apps and music previously bought in the "Purchased" menu of the iTunes App & iTunes Music store respectively. This is where the different family members are listed and you need to sift through who purchased what and then add/download to your library/device. For me, Songs/Albums don't automatically show up in my Music. I believe this answers the problem as a parent "I don't want my child's song crap showing up on my phone." Lots of parents that I work with fuss about seeing their child's songs in their library when one single iTunes acct is shared.
See if that helps

Jul 1, 2015 4:05 AM in response to Teknokyleby Paul-nz,Hey Teknokyle,
I think you are right that there must be a backlog.
I left it alone for a couple of hours.
When I came back and restarted the Music app on my Wife's iPhone,
I got the option 'enable iTunes Music"
rather than asking her to choose an account type (individual/family).
Clicking that... and we are all good.
I'll check the kids tomorrow.

Jul 1, 2015 1:39 PM in response to Teknokyleby zoltans,How did you ".. turned off/on the sharing of my purchases within the iCloud>Manage Family area"?
There I can only see the purchases settings (MasterCard.)

Jul 1, 2015 10:37 PM in response to zoltansby BSteely, zoltans, I have the same question of Teknokyle. Teknokyle, thanks for the detailed answer, but where are you seeing the option to turn "off/on the sharing of my purchases within the iCloud>Manage Family area"? Is that on a Mac or on an iOS device? I've looked in both places and frankly don't see anything like that anywhere. It would be great if you could be a little more specific about that. Thanks.

Jul 2, 2015 4:09 AM in response to BSteelyby Teknokyle,TO turn sharing off/on, I opened my iCloud settings on my iPhone, clicked on Family. From there you should see a list of members in your family. Click on your name - it has a (me) next to it. There you will see the option to choose/change YOUR iTunes purchasing account and turn your sharing off.
I was able to confirm my daughter also used a gift card in her iTunes account and I was never charged on my CC account. Worked like a charm. Now my kid can buy gift cards if she wants music or apps. She still has to ask permission to buy, just can not use her own money thanks Jupiter
Hope that clarifies

With a Family membership to Apple Music, families of up to six people can enjoy all of the benefits of Apple Music, each with their own library.
To participate in a Family membership, select Family when you choose your membership plan. Then, set up Family Sharing on your iOS device or Mac and invite members to join. You can also change to a Family Membership after you join.
