iOS 8.4 animations and apps keep lagging major

Did you follow the suggestions earlier in the thread to kill all apps, wait 2 minutes, then reboot the phone?

yes, I did, however, killing "all the apps" is nice. I usually do not run too much apps (maybe 2 or 3, Chrome, Mail and Threema e.g.), so I do not believe in fraction being a problem at me. Also I have about 10% of the space of the system used, so about 90% is free! One day after disabling the faces in the app switcher I can confirm, disabling this feature IS the workaround.

I am also having this issue. Ever since updating to IOS 8.4 my phone has run sluggish.

The lag is sporadic, not happening 24/7 but when it does happen some of the follow occur:

• Pressing the skip song button on the phone lock screen takes a couple of seconds to register.
• After the phone is unlocked the app appearing animation happens at a slower rate.
• Page swiping is laggy or jittery.
• App/folder opening/closing is slow.
• Even when the “Music” app is running in multitasking, it ‘freezes’ for about 5 seconds when you pull it to the foreground. –this is the only problem that does happen 24/7, no matter how fast/slow my phone is running.

I have tried the troubleshooting that was previously suggested in this thread but to no avail. I guess I will have to wait for an update to see if this problem gets fixed.

Yea the lagging touch response was so bad for me I just said forget it and I installed iOS 9 beta on my main guy iPhone 6! It's running much smoother some bugs hiding somewhere in the beta! I found just 1 biug which isn't major but I use the app every now & then. Life360 app boots me off seconds after starting the app which didn't happen in iOS 8.4 so I reported it! And sadly I thought the wifi random dropping or says connected to wifi from setting but when u look in your top right corner it says on 4G or LTE so still **** about using up all my data and paying for wifi I can't even connect or stay connected to without sitting a foot away from the router box! Had none of these issues running on iOS 8.3! I miss u . Please fix the wifi connecting issue b4 iOS 9 arrives

I have updated to iOS8.4, on iphone5 32GB, having 11GB available... my "kill app" / "app switching" screen freeze for 5 sec before I can make any movement, this only occur since I updated to iOS8.4! This is sooo annoying and I have not backup my phone right before this update... sigh I wished to revert to previous version..... Anyone got the same freezing issue?

try my workaround and disable the contacts in the app switcher. If this works just also try your message and phone app. If they also hang, and hang much longer, require sometimes to completely reboot the phone, you have the same problem as me. I reported it as a bug to apple, maybe you should do the same.

wow this is awesome, i disabled the contacts in the app switcher and instantly solved the freeze / delay issue! Great thanks! (Hope the problem won't return...)

I had the same issue (the app switcher would hang and be unresponsive for 15 seconds or so), and can verify that disabling the contacts' portraits in the app switcher made the problem go away.
