Icloud music library not activating

When I try to switch on Icloud Music Library it switches back off within a few seconds automatically.

I've tried all the methods so far: airplane mode, remove/add my account, reboot, closing Music app, disabling Wifi.

Country Romania.

I even contacted Apple Support, they had no idea about this..strange.

I see no error message, just the switch going back off by itself in a matter of seconds.

Well, considering it was a reply to the guy who posted the fix, I was under the impression that people would realize that I'm not talking about the native app, even after the 8.4.1 ios fix. Thing is, after using the workaround, I managed to make it stay turned on, but none of the music I was saving for offline actually apperead in my music tab. After downloading the song ( that would appear in the tab for a short period of time ) it would just disappear. So, here comes an extra round of shady fixes. After you save the song for offline mode (wait a couple seconds for it to download), select the song again, and save it it in a playlist (I created a new one called iCloud music library). You should find your song saved and ready to play. I did that for multiple songs and it works for all. It's a fix, not their fix, but still a fix. Atleast you can listen to some music in offline mode, untill they actually get it running in Romania. Have a good one!

Can't edit previous post...awesome. As I found out, you don't actually have to save the song in a playlist after making it available offline...I just suck at noticing things. After you make it available for offline play, just select the song again and you should have the option of adding it to your music. I just assumed that "make it available offline" actually means storing it in my music...my bad. Apart from the airplane mode trick, I don't see any other inconveniences while using the service. I'll keep you guus updated

It's still on on my iPhone, although at times it's a bit glitchy, as in songs i add to my music or save for offline listening sometimes disappear from my library and i have to add them again. However, one issue I'm having is that it doesn't work on iTunes, meaning that I can't save songs or add them to my music when I'm listening on my Mac or my work PC. Needless to say, the songs I save on my iPhone don't show up on my Mac or PC either.

So all hope is lost! I've been reading through 12 pages of this thread to be increasingly dissapointed as pages went by. I've recently cleaned an iphone and was using it as my home music device. I was curios to see if any matching would be going...and it seemed the songs didn't match, but i took it as just being junior user. Now i find out that it doesn't actually do matching. So, this is a bunch of useless crap, isn't it?

I'm neither a fan nor accustomed to iOS, but just wanted to have some good music source in my house and was more than willing to pay for it.

Now, since this is lost, what about Spotify? Never used it before. How's the library and how good is it at matching? 😀

So after a brief discussion with one of the consultants it is indeed an issue with iTunes in the Cloud availability and the different copyright laws in each country.

It is in process to differentiate the services to be able to have iCloud music library or enable the now-unavailable service (iTunes in the cloud) alltogether.

No official workaround existing yet.

The on device workaround is temporary in most cases.

Respect to all 🙂

We are currently working on Romania right now and expect iCloud Apple Music to be available in a few months. However there is no exact estimate when it will be available as this is a new service. I do apologize you are not getting the full iTunes experience, but we are working hard to get that feature to Romania.

this is the answer I got from Apple support. It's coming folks! Better late than never.

Nope. It's over.

No more offline listening and add apple music to your library listed for Romania. Therefore, it's safe to say that we're literary the only country in the world without the icloud music service.

And the legislation excuse is a load of lies. Other -smaller- services have done it. Google Music, Tidal (yeah, that's actually a thing), Zonga, and Deezer.

Shame on you, Apple.

La juma' de pret si de tot rahatul. Preferam sa dau 10 euro si sa functioneze ca lumea.

This exact issue has been happening for me. I haven't read the entire thread but it seemed like it was only (or mostly?) happening for people in Romania? I'm in Massachusetts. And honestly the apple music app has been the buggiest app I've used on an iOS device so far... I don't understand how such a cumbersome UI and the sheer amount of crashes Ive experienced got through QA, it makes me wonder if they even did any QA before release, or just released the app to maintain a comparable user base wrt spotify etc... i digress.. I'm just really upset with the Music app and I guess I'm gonna go give google play a try because right now Apple music is a mediocre, seemingly untested app and it's disappointing coming from a company like apple. babhhgh.

I contacted Apple Support and requested a compensation for giving us false information ( lying basically ) when they initially launched the service up until ~20 August when they changed Apple Music Subscription features on apple.ro website.

They offered me 10 song credits which I assume it means 10 free songs and I settled with this.

I suggest everyone affected by this to do the same thing.

What they promised up until ~20 Aug: https://web.archive.org/web/20150813190100/http://www.apple.com/ro/music/members hip/

They should offer the service that they promised at the time of the signup, or cancel from their end all memberships from Romania, send an email to everyone apologising for basically false advertisement, and asking for those interested to signup again.

I for sure won't be paying for this trash, even though the price is indeed low. If there's indeed a legal issue regarding downloading the music and listening it offline, I can understand that, but they should have known that from the beginning.

I was actually expecting a lot more from Apple, even more than they promised to deliver. I was expecting Apple to figure out what kind of music that I like (basically whatever is in the For You tab), and make me a never ending playlist of it. Not only does it fail to give me the music that I like without me having to digg through the iTunes app for it, but it also takes away the only way that I could make my own playlist, which they took away when they gave everyone else in the world iCloud Music Library.

Sep 8, 2015 1:08 AM in response to phrozenra

I do not think they will ever cancel anything. I am curious how many users will pay for this service when at the same price you can get a full working experience with other apps: deezer for example.

Sorry Apple but paying just for streaming ain't gonna cut it here. It's music, sorry, youtube is free, others offer a complete service...

I will contact the local authorities to try to find out if indeed the local law is the culprit here, but I really doubt this...
