Ipad doesn't spellcheck with bluetooth keyboard

Just got an Ipad to replace a dying netbook.

Needed to be able to wordprocess, email and type on the go.

I got a logitech bluetooth Keyboard/case so I wouldn't have to screen type only to find that spellcheck and autocorrect do not seem to work when using bluetooth keyboards. This is a massive problem for me as I'm a bit dyslexic and find it tricky enough to proofread on small screens, so am very reliant on my SP as a safety. I'm not even getting the wavy red lines under misspelt words.

Anyone know of a fix?
