Choose "Songs" not "Artists", "Albums", etc.

Pick a song and start playing.

Hit the title of the song near the bottom.

In the new screen, hit the Shuffle button.

Problem solved...IF you have an internet connection (Siri doesn't work without an internet connection).

Problem solved...IF you just want to shuffle all your music. What about if you want to shuffle just within a genre or a composer? Siri will not do that for you.

Bottom line. They keep making iTunes worse with every update. "Shuffle" is a simple function that shouldn't force people to try to find workarounds like Siri or creating countless playlists...it should just WORK, like it used to.

Just go into your iTunes library and up at very top is the selection of artist, albums, genres and songs. With artist just press on the 3 dots parallel by the artist you want to hear; Then press play next. All the songs for that artist should play shuffled. Genres and composer are shuffled in the same fashion. Songs are automatically shuffled. Like I said before, this should be way easier than what it is now.

New iTunes is horrible, as we all know...so I researched some alternate music players for my iPhone and decided to go with ECOUTE. The main thing I hated about the new iTunes is how they don't let you shuffle genres or composers anymore. The ECOUTE app let's you shuffle any way you want, and the interface is pretty cool. Plus, it's only 99¢ too. There's other apps for a few bucks more that do more, but I went ahead with this one and it does the trick. If you want to simply listen to your music, shuffled however you choose, without Apple forcing all other types of stuff on you...give it a shot.

Hooray! An answer. This could not even possibly be more simple. I downloaded it for $1.19, which took about 18 seconds, there's a Shuffle button right at the top of the screen, and it shuffles all my music, just like I wanted. There are choices Shuffle All, Shuffle Off, or Shuffle Albums. Good enough for me and WAY better than what we're left with after crappy Apple took the flexibility away from us (and I am hardcore Apple). Good bye iTunes. They also make Ecoute for Mac OS so goodbye forever dictator iTunes.

This has frustrated me for some time until now. If you go to your library, and select songs instead of Genres, Artists (in the middle of the screen), then play a song there is a shuffle button that you can select to shuffle ALL your songs. It's the second button to the left at the bottom of the screen with two arrows in the same direction. That should do it. Hope this helps you guys!
