iTunes 12.2 both checked and unchecked songs are highlighted

After downloading iTunes 12.2 both checked and unchecked songs are highlighted. Visually I cannot tell what songs are checked and which are unchecked. This is making it impossible to manage which songs are synced to my iPod. Please help! Please!

Use the Songs view where the check marks are visible.

Use iTunes Feedback to say you'd like the greyed out visual cue for unchecked songs restored in other views.

FWIW, checked/unchecked status is not the ideal way to manage device content. It limits you to managing one device (or several clones) and prevents regular playback of content in your library which isn't currently selected to sync. Make one or more playlists to sync with each device and, in general, leave everything checked. The unchecked tracks in my library are things like bonus interview tracks that I would never want to hear at random or even when playing the album straight through, but which I keep in my library should the mood occasionally take me.

I don't know if people are still having a problem with unchecked music syncing but I found a fix today that worked for me. In iTunes preferences click on the general tab and then change ratings from 'stars & loves' to just stars. Then in the library go to album view (this can be changed just under search), navigate to the album, select it and you should see the album rating which you can now remove. I hope that helps anyone that was still having problems, I know i was since Apple Music came out.
