I can't transfer Apple Music to iPod Nano

I started Apple Music trial, and I added some songs to My Music library, when I connect my iPod Nano 7g and try to sync. It says that song was not copied to the iPod because it is a subscription item.

It is supposed that I can play them offline, right?

iPod nano, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), null

We must have been through this several times - I'm not going to read 180 answers to find out. You cannot use Apple Music on an iPod other than the Touch because it requires an internet connection which they don't have. If you feel that their advertising is misleading you will have to take it up with them or with any regulatory authority you may have in your region.

With all due respect, you are wrong. Of course, it needs Internet access but it does not require constant Internet access. I've had devices that use the Rhapsody that don't inherently have internet access. You connect device to your computer, the DRM updates on the device for 30/60 days, the DRM expires in that timeframe and you can't play the song until you connect the device again to update the entitlements. Each time you connect the device, it adds 30/60 days to the allowable play time.

Why can't Apple do that for the iPod/iShuffle devices?

Perhaps. I know I'm being unreasonable to ask that I use their music subscription with their music devices but I'm a demanding customer (who, btw, just switched from the Android ecosystem to the Apple ecosystem

My point, (beyond why are people still going on about this?), is that no one here would know and Apple is under no particular obligation to explain anything to you. If you don't like the way it works, submit feedback and don't subscribe. Continue to use your Nano/Shuffle/iPod Classic in the way they were designed to be used.

Thank you for the textbook answer. The lack of sincerity and concern for customer satisfaction is evident, and not what I expect from Apple, Inc.

The point is being completely missed. This is Apple's problem to sort out, not the end user. Apple is moving to a large volume of subscription based downloads, then they should be available on all devices.

All devices have to be plugged back in to a computer at some point, any subscription items could be removed then- I should think. But I'm a social scientist, not a techie.

I am considering cancelling my subscription service and just purchasing ala carte to ensure I have the flexibility I deserve. I should not have to pay for the subscription AND the song in order to get it on a device I use daily (iPod Shuffle).

As IT geniuses leading the tech world, I expect better from Apple. As a 20 year Apple product consumer, I certainly expect better customer service. And the gentleman is correct; fix your graphic AND the problem, and stop hiding behind what's been written in the fine print!

You do understand that no one who's posted in this thread works for Apple, right? The person you just criticized for lack of sincerity is just a fellow user like you. And, how an answer that is 100% correct be insincere?

I just bought an iPod Nano last night (I didn't even know they still made the iPod), because I bought a Harley with a sound system, and my iPhone 6s Plus doesn't fit into the holder. I was so excited, I could bring my Apple Music with me on the road!

I understand that it's a rental service, but...seems to me that if you don't sync within 30 days (if, for example, you were going to cancel Apple Music), then why not have it delete everything from the Nano? I have no problem with it, since I wouldn't be paying for a service and wouldn't expect the benefit of it.

And if done accidentally (not syncing)? A simple sync would put those tunes back on to the device. So I either have to return the Nano, cancel the Apple Music and still with Amazon Music and find another device, or get XM Sirius.

I thought piracy was pretty much addressed over the last decade. Very disappointed and I'm a huge Apple fan.
