I have the exact problem. 😟 It's giving me headaches.
I Am having the same issue, it just has white screen. I am using an iPhone 5
That happened to me twiceand I fixed it twice in the last few days with a late model iPod Touch.
Do this :
1. Turn on Wi-Fi (because the Settings menu for Music is context sensitive)
2. Go to Settings > Music
3. Under the Apple Music category, turn off Show Apple Music
4. Go back to Home page and click on the Music icon ... hopefully you will see all of your own music albums that are on your iPod
There must be more to this. I would be happy to hear more details ... and even happier if Apple would make our Music choices clearer. Providing a user with a blank unresponsive screen is the least informative possibility.
kitparrish, you are amazing, this worked for me! I hope Apple would come up with a permanent fix though like you said.
actually what i did later as a friend told me is to restore the device (Back it up first) and then re sync it and its works likes a beauty. It is permenant fix
This TOTALLY HELPED ME! Thanks a MILLION! You're a LIFESAVER!

An easier thing to try first:
1. Double click on the Home button
2. Swipe all the app screens upwards one by one until only the home screen is left
3. Click on the Home button
4. Press and hold the Sleep / Wake button until the screen shows something like "Swipe to turn off"
5. After 30 seconds or so, press and hold the Sleep / Wake button to restart the iPhone.
Music should then work normally.
Thank you. Very helpful as I was stuck in a remote area with a blank screen and no music. I cannot believe Apple is so sloppy and unprofessional to allow this to happen.
Thank you so much. I was totally lost on this one.
this worked for me 🙂 also i had to reboot the phone
Thank you so much. This worked great! My hours old iphone 6 plus had a music icon that did not work at all. You saved me day.
Martin-London - I had a similar problem today on my iPad (after upgrade to 9.3.3) but nobody gave me a solution like you did!!!!!! This is what I did - basically - and it worked afterwards: seems sweeping all the app screens upwards until only the home screen is left is THE solution. So I thank you very much (even the local agent where I live said do "reset," but that is not the solution).
THANK YOU Thank you Thank you!
How can I give you a star? :-)
It worked beautifully. Thank you.
Worked great! Can't believe how many screens I had open.
You are awesome! Worked like a charm. I was SO frustrated and losing patience. Thank you!!
