Can't subscribe to Apple Music

When I try to subscribe to Apple Music I get the following error, both on iOS and Mac:

Sorry

We've found a problem that prevents us from signing you up for Apple Music at this time. We expect to have it fixed within a few days, and we thank you for your patience.

It happens right after I click on 'Start 3 month free trial' and then 'Individual'.

Any ideas what could be going one? I can't find anything on the web about it.

Now that I'm seeing more cases of this, there are two things that could be happening, too many people are signing up and the servers are overloaded, and/or Apple Music has a glitch that is preventing some/ all from signing up. Try again in a few hours and again in a few days. You are not the only people that are having this issue, the support for Apple Music has others experiencing this as well.

Since iMusic is so new, apple still has issues within it, I would wait a day or two and try again. Do you have a credit card linked to your account? Apple Music requires a credit card to be linked since after the free trial ends it begins charging your account. I would also try posting this question in the Apple Music community

I had the exact same error and I suspected it was because I use my old "non-iCloud" AppleID for iTunes purchases. I signed out of that account and logged in with my iCloud account and I got past the error, but I didn't proceed as I'm not sure I want to do that since all of my purchased music isn't on that account.

I guess that's a moot point to a degree since I'll have access to every song ever, but my App Store, movie, iBook purchases aren't on that account.

Has anyone had success subscribing to Apple Music with an older iTunes account?

- I've de-authorized and and reauthorized all devices and it still did not work.

- Shut down devices and reopened iTunes.

- Tried subscribing iPhone 5s, Macbook, iMac, and iPad (still having same message).

But while I was in my account settings I noticed I tried iTunes Match a few years ago and did not renew my subscription. It's asking me to renew my subscription. Possibly there's a glitch between it wanting to renew that subscription and trying to sign up for the "new" iTunes Match + Apple Music.

Has anyone else tried iTunes Match in the past and not renewed it?

I had this problem as well. For my setup I've use iTunes as my share purchase account, not as the family leader. I logged out of iTunes and back in again as the family leader and it worked.

Hopefully they fix it because it is really confusing right now because I can't see my iTunes purchases in iTunes anymore.

+1

I subscribed to iTunes Match about 2 years ago. Had the subscription for a year and cancelled due to the fact that I wanted Spotify instead.

Also, as another aside although I don't think it matters, I live in Canada.

Anxiously awaiting Apple to fix this so I can join up. Thankfully things like Radio work so I'm enjoying that for now.

I was also a iTunes Match user a couple of years back. I keep receiving the same error. I called Apple Care about it and they said that it's a bug in the system and I only need wait a few days.

My brother has never had match and he signed up yesterday with no issue right in front of me!

I have actually contacted them yesterday and been told it's a server problem that can only be waited out.

After reading this thread, I called them again today and they kept me for half an hour just to check that it wasn't anything to do with the iTunes Match thing.

From what I've been told (they were real nice both times, it's always a pleasure dealing with their Customer Service folks) it's nothing to with iTunes Match (when you think about it people, most of us Apple customers would have had iTunes Match at some point, in the same way that we are trying to get Apple Music now...) but indeed a problem with the servers, and that it can only been waited out.

So keep trying and over the next few days, it should unravel in our advantage.

Good luck!

We appreciate your efforts, I hope that the iTunes match thing is wrong... but about 10 minutes ago my girlfriend signed up and got through with no issue. She's also in my "family share".

I'm not sure what gives, but the only difference between her and I is that I had iTunes match once upon a time, she didn't.
