How do I repeat only one song in the new Apple Music app?

Woe to those who accidentally turn this on via a phone fumble. Thank you so much for revealing this mystery because I was going insane listening to the same song over and over again and tapping shuffle to move to another eventually. Just... gah!

None of these answers are working for me. When I pull up, nothing happens. I also can't find the icon that people are describing to tap several times. Grrr, so frustrating when simple functions are hidden.

The repeat option becomes available once you expand the mini player. The mini player is found at the bottom of the screen above the "My Music" "Playlist" "Radio" "Connect" buttons. Just tap on the name of the song playing and the mini player will expand. Once the mini player is expanded, you will see the shuffle and repeat options at the bottom of the screen. Hope this helps 🙂

I have to hit the the double arrow symbol to the right of play in the play menu to bring the familiar "circling arrows" symbol needed to repeat a song. Simply playing the song was not bringing up the needed, which appeared to the right of the "Up Next" label in the bottom right of the play screen.

FOUND IT!!!

So, I tap on the song on the bottom of the screen, it brings up some options snd the album art, but no repeat.

Touch that screen, and drag it all upward with your finger. The repeat and shuffle icons were below what was visible on the screen.

Click on the song you like, when it shows up on the bottom of the screen, click on that. A song card will pop up. If you swipe down on that, you'll see the shuffle, repeat, and repeat song options! Took me FOREVER to find it!

I FOUND the answer JESUS. Tap the song playing at the bottom of the screen. When the full screen comes up, use your thumb to scroll up. The repeat function doesn't show on the screen until you slide the screen up. It's at the very bottom and says "Up Next"

To my understanding after you tap the song title box at the bottom of the screen in which your current playing song appears, scroll upwards and you'll see all of your songs plus the option of repeating :)

Because the staff working to improve ios gets sooo bored and before getting enough feedback on changes, they implement the updates. they get payed for it so why not....

me(i have apple products for the past 10 years,iphones,ipads) and most others like me, on our time off, we need to do research and educate ourselves to try to figure out why the music is not easily handled, why itunes are almost impossible to use if you did not update for more then a few months, why you need to authorize your own pc in order to access your own iphone. BUT... you can only authorize up to 5 and if you already de-authorized all, but you need to do it again, you're out of luck. gotta wait a year.

now this hidden option... they couldn't fit the repeat/shuffle shortcut on the same screen with apple play icon and the 3 dots icon?

apple use to be primary choice for anti-technology segment market, because it still has one of the most user friendly inteface.

Did that just get out of style?

but wait... if you dont like it, apple wants to know about it.

so take an hour, figure out the link to feedback, create an account, input your info and then tell apple you're so annoyed with the new update, so that way you can get a compassionate email back with no change in the ios

For people searching, like me, more recently (2017):

Tap on the title playing (lower end of the screen).

It enlarges. Then swipe up anywhere on the album cover, the whole menu moves up a bit and reveals the "shuffle" and "repeat" buttons.

Ridiculously easy once you found it, but super frustrating to find.

I was so frustrated with this and then found the answer through trial and error. I went to the settings and clicked on Display & Brightness, then switched my Display Zoom from "Zoomed" view, to "Standard" view. I was then able to follow the steps that others took. I guess the zoomed view didn't allow for the shuffle and repeat to show up on the screen for some reason. I hope this works for someone else.

For iPhone SE users, you now have to SCROLL DOWN once the mini player is expanded. Everything blew up and now nothing fits onto a single screen. Wonderful.

The app does have the function for repeat, to do so one must touch and hold the title of the song and THEN swipe up
