I recently had my screen replaced and now my proximity sensor is not working. The store that fixed it said my phone is not recognizing it. How do i fix this i just want to be able to make a call without pushing buttons.

A user cannot fix that...and if the store that worked on your iPhone is not an Apple Store or Apple authorized Service Provider, Apple will not help you. Once a third party opens the iPhone, Apple voids all future support. You will have get the people who worked on it to fix the iPhone.
How do I know if they are an Apple authorized service provider?
Best way is to ask them. If you take it to an Apple Store genius bar they will ask who worked on it. If they are not an AASP the techs will refuse to service it.
