Macbook Bluetooth won't turn on

The little apple in the top left hand corner says I have a Macbook5,2. Currently using OS X 10.6.8. My Bluetooth won't turn on. I try clicking it on in Preferences and in the status bar. It has worked fine in the past and I'm having no other issues with my laptop. I haven't changed or deleted anything recently. If you're going to tell me all I need to do is reset the PRAM or something, please explain how to do that. I'm basically borderline illiterate. Thanks 🙂
