zooming sensitivity of magic mouse

I find the zoom sensitivity of the magic mouse much to highly amplified. Very tiny movements of the index finger produce huge changes in the scale of google maps, images in photoshop, drawings in sketchup, etc etc. The same problem applies for panning.

How can I adjust this so it requires larger movements to zoom smaller amounts?
