Slight delay when answering iphone5

I have an iPhone 5 running 8.3 . There's 1.2 GB's available, 12.6 GB's in use. I am noticing a several second delay every time I answer my iPhone before the call seems to connect. My carrier is Cricket. Any suggestions?

I have two suggestions:

Update your iPhone to the latest version (iOS 8.4). But before you do that, do the following:
You have about the minimum space available that an iPhone can stand before it becomes dysfunctional. Check Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage and clear out some space.
