lagging and advertisement popping

1. in SystemPreferences->Users&Groups->LoginItems remove ALL entries with the minus sign underneath. This does uninstall nothing, just prevents apps starting at login. You can start them when you want to use them and Quit (from the menu) when you stop using them.

Restart.

2. Afaik Kies is not compatible and causing issues. Uninstall. Check if the fuspredownloader has been uninstalled too.

3. Uninstall the Samsung (galaxy/android??) software. If you do not find it, it is maybe already trashed, but the kexts should be removed:

Go to the MacintoashHD->System->Library->Extensions folder in Finder, remove the Samsung driver kext, and the ssuddrv.kext... be very careful in this folder.

Then restart.

DO NOT imdiscriminately delete login items, as they may be useful to you and removing them will not necessarily have any effect on the problem.

Removing the Samsung drivers will certainly have no effect, as they don't load or do anything at all in Yosemite.

I have found that the Etrechek report to be 100% accurate in regards to the information that is contains. Have you seen cases otherwise? It certainly is not comprehensive nor is it intended to be. If it has shortcomings, voice them.

What do you mean by 'usual results'? Is this something inherent in the report that you do not like or do you take issue with advice offered by others? If the latter is the case, post your differences. If the former, provide specific details as to the inherent flaws.

Your constant dissing of the Etrechek report without any substantive reasons for your objections gives the appearance of pique rather than logic.
