samsung evo 850 ssd

Hello everyone, I hope someone can help with my ssd upgrade on my late 2010 MBP. I decided I wanted to upgrade my HDD after upgrading to 16GB ram for speed and performance, so I bought and evo 500gb. before the installation i saw an update for Yosemite and im not sure if that cause any problems but i updated the computer cleaned it out using clean my mac and cc cleaner. I used a sata 3 to usb cable to connect the ssd the very first time and used disk utility to format it. Then i was instructed to use CMD R to start the system in recovery in order to use the Macintosh HD as a source in disk utility . Either way it finished took about 2 hours. installed the ssd and it took a while in the beginning to boot up but it finally did . The first thing i did was open up clean my mac to get rid of some apps i didn't want and i immediately got an Unapproved caller error. restarted the machine and it the error didn't go away.

I tried carbon copy cloner and i got the same error.

then i tried to install a fresh osx Yosemite, formatted the ssd again with diskUtility

the install went through successfully and i even booted from the drive connected to the sata usb cable

i figured it works and i installed it back into the computer tried to boot and got the same error

ive tried using a windows machine to secure erase but the drive is now shown as ASMT 2115 device and the Samsung software wont recognize it.
i used the fcsk command also to try and rest nvram and still nothing.

i also tried formatting to NTFS and the drive name doesn't change. i read some where that the bridge chip is whats causing it to be named ASMT device

im stuck now with a unusable ssd and expensive one at that

if anyone has encountered this problem and has any insight on what i can do please send help

thank you!!!

I just finished a 2 day install of a 120 Gig Samsung 850 EVO. I am happy to report its working except for one strange effect the device is not seen, but El Capitan or Lion which I installed first time. I was happy it worked and not worried I could not see the drive.

Your USB Flash, and SSD:

OS X Utilities to go into the Disk Utility and format the new SSD to OS X Extended (Journaled) and make sure its a GUID partition table.

I have seen various methods using commands on Terminal. They do not work because there are hidden key strokes so one guys says you can use his link. Of course, you could simply type it in. I preferred a method not using these commands on Terminal. I did not have a USB to SSD connector, but I am going to buy one. In fact, I am curious now if I buy a Kingston SSD, which is cheaper than a Samsung, if everything works first time. I also, plan to reinstall El Capitan on the Samsung drive using a new USB to SSD connector with the Apple disk utility program which is 1.1 gig in size. I am glad I installed El Capitan on a Flash memory stick as its easy to access the program anytime without the long download.

One guy made a comment about the title of the drive should not have any spaces in the name as he had problems. I left spaces in my name and wonder now, if that is why the software can not view the drive. Yet, the software is working. The other issues, may be because I am using a Samsung SSD. I will be really disappointed if I cannot use the Samsung drive as it is suppose to be more energy efficient than the other drives because of the 3D memory design, and high security features.

The speed, is amazing. I hope when I bump up the memory to 8 gig, that when I do run video processing or sound processing that also speeds up my computer.
