How to buy music on iPhone with iTunes

Do I have to join Apple Store to buy and download songs I want to buy? I can't figure out how to get to iTunes Store without joining Apple Music and paying a fee since I have done the update? Is this right? Please tell me this isn't the case!!

Simple solution - go to the Apple store Icon (white star app on a purple background) that I was totally unaware of previously, and open for the ability to purchase all the music you may want.

It's actually called the iTunes Store.

To hide Apple Music :

- on an iOS device : Settings > Music > Show Apple Music 'off'

- on a computer's iTunes : Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac), General tab, untick 'Show Apple Music'

To access the iTunes store :

- on an iOS device use the iTunes store app

- on a computer's iTunes click the 'iTunes Store' button/link tab along the top of the iTunes screen

Hey King, thanks for the tip, I needed to add one more step to make your instructions work and that was to do a systems reset on the phone by hitting the off button and the front bottom circle button and holding them down until the iphone restarted, at which point the selection of un-ticiking Apple Music finally worked.

I swear, when I saw an article that said Apple was building a huge new corporate headquarters and they said all great companies do this and then crater, I laughed, but now I believe it's true. Apple is no longer about serving its customers, it has morphed into Microsoft and their corporate ethic is now how can we trick people into giving us money on a monthly basis!

I have declined Apple Music in my settings and searched the app store. When I click 'visit itunes store' nothing happens. All I want to do is get some tunes but Apple doesn;t want some of my money, just all of it, Samsung looks better all the time. I have neither the time nor patience to go through a labyrinth just because of some marketing guru/developer .

It is this simple. If I decline Apple Music it should default to itunes store. Period.

Get with it Apple

All I want to do is play music from my iTunes radio and I keep getting prompted to join Apple Music!!! WTH??? I have disabled AM from my settings and I still can't just play music from my radio....Samsung here I come.

iTunes Radio is now only available as part of iTunes Music. I don't believe Samsung offers a free radio service at all (but haven't checked lately) There are plenty of other free streaming music options: Pandora, TuneIn. I'm partial to Radio Paradise.

I hit the same problem when I wanted to listed to internet radio today. Here is what I found out.

Find a free internet radio player with music you like - i found http://www.accuradio.com/smooth-jazz/

Hold the option key and click on the speaker icon - select your airport and you will stream to it. All free of charge.

If you don't show a speaker icon - go to system preferences for sound and check the box at the bottom of the dialogue box.
