Is there a way to automatically empty Safari's cache upon exiting the program?
iPad, iOS 4.3.3

Mballas,
No.
Safari Preferences, General, has the ability to select a few options in "Clear History," including daily and longer periods. There is not a choice, however, to Clear History upon Exiting. The History pull-down menu has a Clear History and Website Data choice at the bottom, but there are no keystroke options given to invoke it quickly (and it also deletes all cookies); this option is also available under the Safari pull-down menu.
An Option you might have overlooked -- when opening Safari, rather than just using the default new Window, close the initial and then File | New Private Window. Safari will not keep the history or any new cookies until you close that Private Window and open a new window. (No, it doesn't seem possible to make a Private Window the default new window.)
If you happen to find another way to clear automatically upon exiting, please update this thread. Thanks.

Thanks I came to that conclusion as well, re the Private window. There is a Develop tab at the top level after History which has two options, disable caches, and empty cache. I tried the disable cache, but it seems to get reset after closing Safari.
On an iPad. Afraid not.
Manually tap Settings > Safari then tap Clear History and Website Data
Not sure how the iPad and iOS was checked. I am interested in deleting the cache on Safari version 8.0.7 on my Mac, Yosemite 10.10.4
I know how to delete it manually but was looking for a way to delete the cache automatically on exiting Safari.
empty safari cache on exit
