No, that hasn't changed anything, I'm afraid.
if they are offline it would be like that and some carrier and older versions of ios does not allow facetime over cellular connection could also be that
or that they had not activated facetime on their device.
No, I tested it by trying to contact my husband's iPad (I am also using an iPad) and neither of us can contact the other. Some of my contacts have the icon showing in blue, but I can't contact them either. I am currently in Spain, but have been able to contact and be contacted on FaceTime here on previous occasions, so don't understand what has changed. I have the latest available version of IOS, the latest FaceTime update, I've rebooted the iPad . . Can't think what else to do.
I am having the same problem, it appears to be the FaceTime icon and the Message icon on my contact cards. They are either grey or blue, and I don't know why. I have two contacts with the same email address, husband and wife. I had mistyped the yahoo email on one and it was greyed out. I fixed it then both had blue icons. Neither of them had iPhone selected next to their mobile numbers. I would love to know the answer to this question.
