Halo effect

i just bought two iPad Air 2s and one of them (mine) has this halo type light problem running down one side of the screen. iPad is less than a day old. Should I return it? See attached.

Moble Me Apple ID-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

If there's a cover on it, remove the cover temporarily.

Afterwards, do the following:

Force Restart (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)

1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.

2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

If this doesn't clear up the issue, take it back and get a different device.

ok that seemed to work but now when I try to reply, I'm typing but the words aren't appearing. I'm now connected to bluetooth keyboard to respond. Is this just a glitch with the website maybe?

The forum software used here at the Apple Support Communities can be buggy when used with an iPad. One bug, you've described already (blank window when typing). The second bug is the double-caps issue (1st word in the 1st line) in your second post.

That's the second one I've seen where the magnets in the cover cause that effect.

Try the Brightkey keyboard to elminate the double caps.

I'm gonna call the place i bought it at and ask them. Maybe they'll give me another cover. I don't wanna leave it unprotected. And if it's a magnetic thing.... then it's an ipad issue.

If you have a magnetic cover the problem seems to be tied in with the delayed wake problem some people are having and started with IOS8.4. I'd try another cover.
