Cannot add Album to My Music

Hello

SInce two days now I cannot add new albums to My Music. Whenever I click on the plus sign, it changes to a check mark for some seconds and then reverts back to the plus sign. And the album does not get added.I am using iCloud and already signed off and on without succes. has anybody else the same problem or knows about a solution?

THanks for any help

I don't think it will be anything to do with the 25000 song limit as has been mentioned previously on the forum. Try this and see if it works:

1. Go to settings/music on your device and make sure you are signed out of 'iCloud Music Library’ and 'Apple Music'

2. Go to settings/iTunes & App Store and make sure you are signed out of your appleID.

3. Go to the music app on your device and open your profile (icon in top left hand corner of screen) and make sure you are signed out there too.

4. next go to your PC and open up iTunes and go onto the general tab in preferences and make sure the check bix to use iCloud is ticked ... You may want to untick it and apply the settings and tick it again and reapply the setting, if was set already.

next go back to your device...

5. Go to settings/iTunes & App Store and sign into your appleID.

6. Go to settings/music on your device and check you have both the 'iCloud Music Library’ and 'Apple Music' switched on ... If not turn them both on.

7. Now go back to settings/iTunes & App Store (this is important) and make sure automatic downloads are turned on for music/apps/books etc. also turn on the 'use mobile data' setting too, if you want to stream/download music over your cellular network.

Now open up your music app on your device and make sure you are definitely signed into your profile and then try adding an album again to your library and see if it works now.

Actually it was the 25000 song limit.

I deleted a bunch of albums in iTunes on the Mac and synchronised with the cloud. Afterwards I was able to again add new albums from Apple Musci to My Music. No idea if, how and why added albums (not local in iTunes) are counted against the 25000 song number?

Thanks for your help, can use AM again

Like you, I use iTunes Match and I have 25000+ songs in my iCloud, but I have not yet reached my limit.

My understanding is only the songs purchased anywhere other than the iTunes Store count towards the 25000, so it's songs matched or uploaded, but not those that are 'purchased' that count towards the total ... I had hoped the songs / albums added (Or linked) via Apple Music would not count towards the 25000 limit, after all we will all be paying $9.99 per month for this service, so surely the tracks added should not count, as we have 'rented' them (so to speak) from the iTunes Store.

If the limit does apply, then I will not be renewing my Apple Music subscription... I can't see the point, if I can't add the albums from iTunes to my library.

In my view the 25000 limit should not apply to apples own music. My current total is 24,586 tracks uploaded/matched, so I will test this feature out myself in the near future.
